The Meeting of High and Low Culture

Once upon a time academics spoke of the end of a distinction between “high” and “low” culture. In some ways, this is really only now becoming an observable reality:

Personally, I’m all for it. The Great Gatsby, Madame Bovary, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, all framing the latest romantic bestsellers. Isn’t choice what the consumer wants?
